Dear Yankees:

Thanks to a lot of work, the club has had a great year! Starting with our strong turnout at the Springfield Motorcycle show, several more club promotions and moving int Rhinebeck and Hebron, the Yankee Chapter has had one of it’s busiest years yet. We still have Sterling and a new ride in the Berkshires in September leading up to the club Christmas party.
You will see this newsletter comes from a new editor, Bernadette (Bernie) Wilder. It will be good to have a regular source of information for the club once again. Tim did a great job, but his work simply got in the way of his hobby! Bernie will be happy to get your thoughts and submissions - don't be shy!
After 11 years of service to the club, Sandy Gallo our finance and member chair is looking to take a break. This means we need one or two volunteers who would like to be the Yankee treasurer, and or we can split out the membership roll. The voting for board positions takes place at the December dinner meeting, so if you need any more info on the responsibility in the position you can give Sandy a call for the straight scoop.
While Bernie has photos and a report on Hebron, I'd like to mention we had more than 2 times the vendors of a few years ago, and a 10% growth over last. In addition, we signed up a number of new AMCA and Yankee members. We had 47 bikes out on the road run, and it this second year of field games were a hit. I was proud of the of the meet quality and the variety of parts ans machines that turned out. We dedicated our ride in the memory of George Twine, and we collected $262.00 to be donated to the Kidney Foundation in his honer.
We had our annual Rhinebeck discussion after the Hebron banquet followed by a vote where we agreed to another year in the Rhinebeck coalition. There was a strong debate over lack of Yankee income from the meet, and the volunteer hours required participating, but in teh end, we passed the vote and will work hard again to make Rhinebeck a success in 2011. A motion from the floor was made and carried directing me to bring a motion to the Rhinebeck coalition to allow AMCA members free admission to the meet. I will be taking that message forward on behalf of the Yankee Chapter.
We've had a couple members in riding accidents this year, so in closing I only ask you to be careful out there!
As usual, I would be happy to hear from you directly. Email
